Mission & Vision

Mission Statement:
Markham Pre-Employment Collaborative is a consortium of service providers uniting to provide gainful employment opportunities for Court Involved & Youth At Risk.

Vision Statement:
Markham Pre-Employment Collaborative is committed to working closely with our youth through Case Management & Employment Initiatives which studies have shown can reduce delinquent behavior, increase responsible living & financial independence.

What Is This?

  • MPC is geared toward Court Involved & Youth At Risk ages 16-21
  • Ages 16-18 Part Time (Students), Keep youth in school
  • Ages 19-21 Full Time
  • The MPC goals & demographics  can potentially generate grant opportunities, through the Cook County Southland Juvenile Justice Council

NPC Goal

  • Develop employment opportunities including paid training programs

  • Locate employers that will give youth the best opportunity

  • Have direct link to employers

  • To continue with skill based programs (trades/apprenticeship)

  • Provide Youth with mentoring along with Soft Skills Program

Requirements

 

  • Youth must go through Job Readiness training to be placed, which will assist with the youth successfully utilizing employment opportunities

  • Youth are to be trained appropriately to assist them with adequate skillsets to thrive

  • Work Site Agreements will be utilized
